should be a pretty unconventional post.
I am writing CAT with the motivation to get into IIM Mumbai sustainability management.
I honestly have no interest in the traditional MBA and as an eng student I see this course is my best shot at getting into sustainibility. Tell me if this this move is stupid and narrow sighted in the standpoint that I'm taking too much of a risk(considering the economy) also considering IIM M is not anyones second choice, let alone first.

Why sustainability? You can work in the CSR departments after doing an MBA too (less risky).
If finances aren't the main concern and you're looking at it from purely academic-interest point-of-view, then you can study what fascinates you (which is also subjective).
Yes, sustainability in particular is my interest, and I wanted to get into the field or allied fields. I didn't know if a traditional MBA offeres CSR jobs at a fresher level (based on companies and roles offered which come on campus).
Other than that, I don't really think traditional MBA is my thing, but I could consider it if there is enough scope I can get into CSR. I will do my research on this but would you have any idea if people do get placed in CSR?
Can you share more details? I know of people working in CSR Leadership Roles after MBA (with proven track record in the social impact space), yes. LinkedIn has a lot of them!
